Train for strength

Alongside the main gym there is a separate large free weights room for anyone who wants to train for strength. While the stereotype weightlifter is a man with very big muscles, free weights training is great for both men and women with a range of fitness goals. From strength building to weight loss, improving posture and balance, and it can make workouts more interesting and challenging too.

Never trained with free weights before?
Our exercise consultants will be able to show you how to get started. Although free weights is an area of exercise many people feel intimidated to try, it’s well worth giving it a go. We have a huge range of equipment including incline and decline benches, cable crossovers, a smith machine, calf machine, racks and a range of dumbbells up to 100lbs, and much more; see below for details.
