Community Membership
IFI membership for disabled people
The club is furnished with accessible exercise equipment to cater for a range of impairments. Special reduced rates of membership are also available on a monthly or pay per visit basis. As part of your membership you will receive a minimum of five free 1:1 sessions. However, all members can arrange further free consultations at any time with a member of the gym team because we understand that everyone has different requirements and may need different levels of support. If you need assistance each time you visit us you may also book an instructor in advance at no extra cost (subject to staff availability),
Carers may also accompany disabled members to the gym (see Carers’ membership information below). Download a PGFC_IFI_leaflet here
PGFC is an Inclusive Fitness Initiative accredited centre.
GP Referral
We run a popular GP referral scheme for adults and teenagers who have been referred to us for exercise by their GP or other health practitioner. All members on this scheme complete an initial supervised programme to ensure they are fully supported in the early stages of their exercise program. On completion of the initial programme members may continue their membership either on a reduced monthly rate or a pay-as-you-go basis.
If you feel you would benefit from the GP referral scheme, you should contact your local GP who will be able to help you complete the relevant forms, which you should then bring to the Club to entitle you to a reduced membership rate.
Carers’ membership
We also run group sessions for carers of all ages and a subsidised or free membership for informal carers is available. To discuss your needs or for more information please contact Angela at aoconner@pgfc.org.uk .
