PORTOBELLO GREEN FITNESS CLUB LEAGUE RULES

This league is open to all PGFC squash members only

Each player must play the other in their league during the period allowed

Each ladder will run for 6 weeks at a time, results not submitted before that time will become void.

Matches will consist of best of 5 games on American scoring

You win a point in each rally in American scoring, if scores are ten points each then it becomes a tie breaker and you have to win the game by two points clear

Scoring will be as follows and include a bonus point available for each match played regardless of score:

 

SCORE   WINNER   LOSER

3-0           6              1

3-1           5              2

3-2           4               3

Bonus: 3-matches played 1, 4-matches played 2

Walkover – 3 points may be claimed if:

 a) An opponent fails to turn up at agreed time

 b) An opponent is offered various dates and times and cannot play or offer alternatives.

 

If any person shows up more than 5 min later than the time designated and the match cannot be finished, then one game shall be awarded to the person who arrived on time.      At the end of each ladder ideally, two players will be promoted to the box above and two will be demoted below with one player remaining in the same box.

You must win three matches or more to guarantee any promotion, unless there is an influx of advance players                                                                                                   Please do not write results directly onto the league ladder 

All results must be recorded on the PGFC website by the winner within 3-days of the match played, if not the opponent can ask for a re-match. 



IMPORTANT RULING 

1. If you join the league for the first time a £10 joining fee will be required

 2. a ) Any players who fail to play two matches, preferably, home matches before the designated league ending will withdrawn out of the league ladder

 b) To be reinstated to the league table, a penalty of £20 will be required 

c) You have three visits to the club in order to pay a fine or joining fee. Payment will then be required to re-book any further courts.

 

EXEMPTION RULE                                                                                                         In the event of ill health, injury or exceptional circumstances, you are required to inform Michael Phillips, Squash Coach, before the halfway stage of the league, by email or by telephone in order to avoid any fines or elimination.
