Anyone can join the Portobello Green Fitness Club squash leagues. There are 13 internal leagues in total, with five players in each. Each squash league runs for six weeks and there is a £10 registration fee to join. To ensure the leagues run successfully with enough matches taking place, all players must play at least 2 matches. If you play less than 2 matches, you will be withdrawn form the league. Should you wish to re-enter the league a penalty payment of £30 must be paid first. All new league members should read the Clubs league RULES PAGE  before playing!

All players, from beginners to advanced, are welcome to play. Keep an eye out at the Club for dates and details of tournament events.

The stern stuff

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the booking. A fee of £4 will be levied for no-shows and bookings cancelled with insufficient notice given. Fines must be paid within three visits or the member will be unable to book a squash court again until the fine has been paid off.

To preserve the enjoyment of the squash facilities for all members and non-member players, anyone found to be persistently abusing their booking privileges will have them revoked.

Footwear

Black or dark soled shoes are not allowed on court (unless they are squash shoes). If in doubt please check with Reception staff. Shoes are available for hire

Misuse

Payment for a squash court by Pay and Play members does not entitle the use of the gym, studios, sauna or steam room. If Pay and Play members are found to be using these facilities when they are not entitled to do so, Portobello Green Fitness Club reserves the right to revert the individual’s squash court fee to the full Pay and Play rate of £7. Written notification will be issued in such a case.

If you suspect someone is using your name and number to book courts, it is your responsibility to bring this matter to the attention of the Duty Manager.
